At Medicine on Blackwood we believe we have an ethical obligation to help train the next generation of doctors and nurses. We welcome medical students and nursing students to the practice, teaching them as part of their university training. We see this as a practical way to help to improve the health of our community over the longer term.
From time to time we take GP registrars. A Registrar is a doctor who has undergone several years of hospital practice after qualifying as a doctor and has chosen General Practice for specialty training. Registrars work and study under supervision for several years before sitting exams to qualify to practice independently as a General Practitioner.
