Billing Schedule

To our valued Patients,

We wish to inform you of the now necessary billing policies decided by the Doctors of Medicine On Blackwood.

Due to the 20 years stagnation of your Medicare rebates and the ever increasing costs of providing good medical care, we are now having to align our fees with AMA (Australian Medical Association) recommended fees.

From 1st of January, we are unable to offer bulk billing to our patients apart from:

  • Childhood immunisations.
  • DVA Gold Card holders and DVA White Card holders for specific conditions.
  • Yearly Health Assessments for patients 75 years and over, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and those with Intellectual Disability.
  • GP Management Care Plans and three-monthly reviews. These are aimed to improve and manage a chronic health condition over the 12-month period. The plans are a specific type of appointment available to all patients with certain chronic health conditions.

As doctors we will continue to offer a discounted rate for children 15 years old and under, full time students under 25 years old and all Commonwealth concession card holders.

Please check our Fees section on the website for more information on fees from 01.01.2023.

We do remind our patients however, that once a Medicare safety net has been reached, you are eligible to a significantly higher rebate to help with the cost of general practice and all other types of care.

If you feel that you are an exceptional case of genuine need, speak with your doctor at the time of your visit.

If you are as concerned as we are about the shortfall of healthcare rebates, please let the Health Minister know by contacting mark.butler.mp@aph.gov.au or your local Members:

After Hours

If you are requiring a regular appointment during business hours, please CLICK HERE.

If you require medical assistance during the hours the clinic is closed, a practice doctor offers full after hours care to currently registered patients. This service is active from 6.00 pm to 7.30 am Monday to Friday and after 12.00 pm on weekends and public holidays.

Private fees for after-hours services start at $ 250.00. Home visits will only be provided where clinically appropriate and where deemed safe and reasonable.

To request an after-hours consultation, please phone 0435 062 414. You will be directed to leave a voice message or send a text message with your full name, date of birth and phone number so that the GP can contact you and have your medical chart ready to commence the consultation.

Upfront prepayment is required and you will be asked for credit card details including expiry date and CCV number.

Please note that the Doctor does not offer prescriptions for opiates or benzodiazepines, perform medicals for insurance purposes, offer routine vaccinations or conduct routine health assessments during after-hours periods.
