While each doctor runs their own independent businesses from Medicine on Blackwood they all work collaboratively to assist with all your medical needs. We understand how important it is to find the right doctor for you. The doctors have different areas of special interest – do take a closer look at us.

Dr Trish Baker MBBS, Dip. Dermoscopy, FRACGP and FAICD

Dr Trish Baker is an experienced GP with a genuine love for looking after people at every stage of life.
She has special interests in mental health, menopause and helping people manage chronic conditions including diabetes and weight loss. She is also an accredited skin cancer doctor, focusing on the early detection and treatment of skin cancers, with calm practical care.

Trish is known for her warm down to earth approach and values building long term relationships with her patients to find realistic personalised ways to manage their health and well-being.
She is also passionate about teaching the next generation of GPs, reflecting her long term commitment to developing the profession.

Outside of work she is all about family. She loves spending time with her husband, their three grown sons and partners and her granddaughter. When she is not with them, you’ll probably find her listening to music or a podcast, curled up with a good book or planning the next family adventure. Staying active and striving to keep fit helps her keep that work-life balance she is always talking about!

Dr Megan Kennedy MBBS FRACGP

Before starting at Medicine on Blackwood, Dr Kennedy worked at our sister practice, Keperra Family Practice & Skin Cancer Clinic, from 2004, and is well known to the community.
Since receiving her Fellowship of the College of General Practitioners, Dr Kennedy has worked in Gympie and the Sunshine Coast as well as Brisbane.
In Brisbane she has also worked in Indigenous Health for over 20 years. Her roles as part of the large and diverse teams there during this time included general clinics, prison visits, satellite clinics, the mother, baby and children’s clinics, as well as supervising medical students and GP’s in training.
Dr Kennedy is interested in all aspects of General Practice. She enjoys its diversity, from young to old and in between, acute to chronic, both physical and psychological health, as well as prevention, and is always interested in the ways that General Practice can help people in the broader context of their family and community lives.
In her spare time Dr Kennedy likes to spend time with family and friends, enjoys reading, music and any opportunity to get out in to the natural world.

Dr Kathy Williams MBChB, FRACGP, Grad Cert Clinical Education

Kathy completed her medical degree in Leicester (UK) before immigrating to Australia in 1996. She is a GP with extensive experience in Child Health and Emergency Medicine. She trained in Paediatrics, before working with the Royal Flying Doctors for several years whilst completing her GP training prior to moving to Brisbane in 2010.
She is passionate about family health, especially antenatal and childhood health, and recognises the importance of having a “Family GP” to cover all aspects of family health.
She is a recognised medical educator and worked for Flinders University and University of Queensland, teaching procedural and clinical skills to medical students and GP Registrars, as well as examining for the Australian College of GPs and the Australian Medical Council for their clinic exams.
Kathy is a Director for the Advanced Paediatric Life Support Course for hospital and community doctors, and also teaches children’s resuscitation to new parents via KidzAid.
Kathy lives in Mitchelton and has been at Medicine on Blackwood since the day it opened. Out of work she spends time with her family, and enjoys cooking, sewing, netball and swimming.

Dr Sarangi Ratnayake MBBS (with honours), AMC and FRACGP

Dr Ratnayake joined the team at Medicine on Blackwood in May, 2017. Her qualifications include MBBS (with honours), AMC and FRACGP was completed in 2015.
DR Ratnayake’s special interests include Womens’ Health, Chronic Disease treatment, Mental Health along with all other areas of General Practice.
Having practised in Gladstone for the past 5 years, Dr Ratnayake along with her husband and two children, have settled into their new life in Brisbane.
When Dr Ratnayake finds a little spare time she loves to go swimming and partake in meditation.
Dr Ratnayake has appointments available from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 8.30am to 1.00pm Wednesdays.

Dr Paul Jenkins

Dr Paul Jenkins is a fellow of the RACGP who studied at UWA and trained in the major teaching hospitals of Perth and Brisbane before completing general practice training. He is passionate about all areas of general practice and has particular interests in men’s health, dermatology and skin cancer medicine and chronic disease. 
He is an Accredited Doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. In his free time he enjoys family, friends, playing guitar and keeping active. For reference: Doctor – Skin Cancer College Australasia.

Dr Peter Striegl

Peter has come to Medicine on Blackwood having just completed a locum year of working around various areas of Australia as a GP. He trained at The Prince of Wales Hospital in  Sydney, before completing his GP fellowship in 2018 in the Wollongong region of NSW.
Peter enjoys all aspects of medicine, with a particular interest in musculoskeletal medicine, childhood health, and chronic disease management. He looks forward to seeing new and existing patients of the practice.
In his spare time Peter loves time with family and friends, working on his Spanish, sports and exercise.

Dr Robert Kennedy 

Robert is an ex-Army doctor having provided health care in unique places around Australia and the world. Robert was trained in Queensland and is a specialist in general practice (FRACGP) as well as aviation medicine (DAvMed/FACAsM/FRAeS/AFAsMA/DAME).
Robert has a passion for public and preventative health, as well as occupational medicine, with a focus on rehabilitation, patient support and education.

Dr Shani Mendis

Dr Shani Mendis graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Dr. Shani gained valuable experience at The Prince Charles Hospital, primarily in the fields of Emergency Medicine and Cardiology. Additionally, she worked at Campbelltown Hospital in New South Wales, where she gained experience in General Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, and Emergency Medicine. She is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (Specialist GP). Dr Shani has a wide range of experience in all aspects of a General Practice with special interest in Paediatrics, Women’s health, Family planning, Preventative health, Aged care and Chronic disease management. Dr Shani enjoys all aspects of General Practice and enjoys the holistic care she can provide for her patients. In her leisure time, she loves spending time with her family, swimming and travelling. She enjoys good food and loves exploring restaurants.

Dr Rebecca Fuller

Growing up in the local area, Rebecca completed both Pharmacy and Medicine degrees at the University of Queensland.
She completed her junior doctor years at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital before deciding to specialise in general practice.
Rebecca enjoys all areas of medicine but has a special interest in women’s health, antenatal care, chronic disease management and lifestyle medicine.
Outside of work Rebecca enjoys spending time with her young children, running and cooking. She plays the piano and is always trying to learn new instruments.

 Dr Caitlin Rosenthal

Caitlin is a caring GP who welcomes patients of all ages and genders. She enjoys the broad scope of family medicine, with special interests in women’s health, pregnancy care and paediatrics.
Caitlin grew up in Brisbane and completed her medical degree at The University of Queensland. She gained experience working at Ipswich Hospital, Mater Hospital and Queensland Children’s Hospital before obtaining her Fellowship in General Practice. She has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Child Health.
Outside of work you will find her chasing after her little boy, getting creative in the kitchen or stretching out on her yoga mat.

Dr Emily Bailey

Dr Emily Bailey is an experienced, UK-trained GP, who relocated to Brisbane with her family last year. She graduated with a distinction from University College London Medical School, and worked across several London hospitals before becoming a GP partner in a large teaching practice in the UK. She has a background in medical research, having presented at conferences across Europe and contributed to several medical journals. She is also passionate about medical education, with lots of experience training medical students, hospital doctors and GPs. 
Dr Bailey holds diplomas with the Department of Reproductive and Sexual Health, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and Menopause Management – an area she is passionate about.
Dr Emily is known for her warm and compassionate nature, nonjudgemental attitude, and her determination to fight for her patients. She prioritises continuity of care and believes that getting the opportunity to help support patients and their families through challenging times, working with them to optimise their health and get the most out of life is a privilege. 
Outside of work, Emily enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family. When not working, she’s most likely to be found chasing her two young sons around in a playground, walking her dog, or at the beach.

Dr Emily is interested in all areas of medicine, but in particular enjoys helping patients with:
